我在买c11之前给蜘蛛公司去了一封信,内容如下:
Hello. It is said that C11 models of knife tools are made in Japan, then have suffered under Japan's nuclear pollution? Thank you.
蜘蛛公司及时给我回了信,内容如下:
Radiation Effects on Japanese Products
Spyderco knives made in Japan are from Seki City which is in the southern part of the main island of Japan, near Nagoya. The nuclear accident at the Fukushima power plant was approximately 300 miles to the northeast. No significant radiation was measured in the Seki City region.
Although the knives and most of their parts are from Seki City, steel and other components for the knives may come from other areas in Japan. After the radiation leaks began, Japan began conducting radiation checks on ships and containers leaving three main international ports in and near Tokyo. The radiation checks are in response to “concerns voiced abroad about the safety of containers and ships that depart Japan” said the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. In addition to checks in Japan, the United States Customs and Border Protection (part of the Department of Homeland Security) has been directed to specifically monitor air and ocean shipments coming from Japan. As of April, the CBP has checked every cargo container coming from Japan since the radiation began escaping from the power plant.
Spyderco does not have testing equipment and, like most other US companies, relies on the expertise and diligence of the Customs and Border Protection to monitor the cargo shipments from Japan.
Thank you and have a great day,
Charlynn
