Here we have an incredible find -- Dark Ops made this prototype, then decided against making it into a production model because it required SO much machining to make and was VERY costly to manufacture -- therefore, I believe it to be the ONLY one ever produced. There is NO information on this knife on Dark Ops' website, and I've not been able to locate any ANYWHERE on the web, either. As you can see, the knife itself is not marked in any way -- production models would have been marked with Dark Ops' name, model number, serial number, etc.
This knife was made in the USA, and STILL comes with Dark Ops' lifetime warranty. Dark Ops touts their products as the FINEST tactical fighting knives in history, and they back it up. Experts and Operators alike regard Dark Ops Knives as the finest tactical fighting knives available at any price.
The Interceptor 911 E&E Reverse Desert Shark shown in the photos is the EXACT one you will receive -- the package has been opened ONLY to take these photos.
The knife features a tanto blade style with partial serrations at the base and near the tip of the top side of the blade. The mil-tested handle contains ground quartz inserts for maximum grip, aided by substantial finger grooves that help the user orient the knife in the dark. The handle ends in a pyramid-shaped skull crusher hilt with a lanyard hole.
The knife is 14" long overall, the blade length is 8.625", cutting edge is 7.125", blade thickness (at the back of the spine) is 0.25" thick, and the handle is black polymer with hex screws fastening it to the blade tang.
The knife comes with a nylon MOLLE-compatible sheath that could be mounted either vertically (through the belt loop) or horizontally (using MOLLE attachment points) and comes with a front pouch that would hold a sharpening stone or a spare pistol magazine. The sheath also features a hard plastic liner to protect the blade's edge while not being used.

This knife has NOT been final sharpened -- the blade edge has been rough ground, but it was NOT completely finish-sharpened because it is a prototype. It is sharp, but it is NOT razor sharp.
This is a SERIOUS Dark Ops collector piece (and almost certainly one of a kind), and in my opinion, this knife should NOT be used -- it should be put away in a safe place as an investment. However, if someone WERE to wish to use it, it could EASILY be brought to a wickedly razor-sharp edge in very little time with the proper sharpening tools. |
